During the restoration of the Hotel Syracuse, PWF was asked if we could create a new trim piece to go around an outdoor fireplace. They also asked if we could restore two of the original gargoyles that originally sat on the roof. One of the design requirements was to include a face that was original to the structure. We started by making a mold of the face located on the existing window trim. We cast the face and mounted it onto our new trim design and molded the entire piece. Using this final mold, both sides where cast in concrete along with the other detail parts needed. The gargoyles where also brought to our facility where they were cleaned, repaired and coated in a special coating to preserve them.
